Embark on an artistic approach is a gamble. More at the heart of an economic crisis and a fashion industry where everyone extols the virtues of realism. Yet this is what makes Yiqing Yin, French designer of Chinese origin formed at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs.
In 2010, she launched her label and quickly found his signature sculptural silhouettes and poetic, dramatic and sensitive. Have his style is a big step, it is even a prerequisite to exist in the jungle of young artists. Price of the first collections of Andam (a contest of the most prestigious fashion) in 2011, she was invited the following year to present their creations during the week of sewing.

Little troubled by the rapid success, she continued her way. Her collection for summer 2013 marks a logical next step. We find its sinuous and folded developed that wrap around the torso, its flexible and organic volumes that form as a shell on the body. A strapless branch of metal, produced in collaboration with the label jewelry by Nora Renaud Adal accentuates the sculptural style.

REAL PROOF

Applications son falsely suggest random decomposition, the inexorable passage of time. To meet these spectacular models of jackets, pants or dresses that simply repeat these ideas and forms. These early pieces reflect an additional quality in the work of the young designer: his ability to translate his style for everyday wear. His vocabulary dress goes hands down the test of reality. A beautiful promise until a commercial line (in the good sense) which should materialize for Paris Fashion Week ready-to-wear in March.

Some say he’s half man half fish, others say he’s more of a seventy/thirty split. Either way he’s a fishy bastard.
